Building on this warm reception, the 2nd edition in 2025 saw even greater enthusiasm, bringing together nearly 1,600 runners, volunteers, and school students from Chiplun and across India. With the powerful theme “RUN TO ELIMINATE PLASTIC WASTE,” the event connected the spirit of running with environmental responsibility.

The success of both editions has established the Chiplun Half Marathon as a platform that brings together fitness, community participation, and environmental awareness. The 2025 edition also helped promote plastic waste management, environmental conservation, and sustainable living, inspiring collective action for a cleaner and greener Chiplun and Konkan region.

Building on this strong foundation, the 3rd edition of the Chiplun Half Marathon returns in 2026 with greater energy, wider participation, and a stronger focus on water conservation. Participants can look forward to certified routes, reliable route support, seamless race logistics, and a safe and enjoyable running experience.

Theme: Run to Save Water

Sangharsha Krida Mandal is a Chiplun-based sports organization dedicated to promoting athletic excellence and community engagement. This year’s theme, “Run to Eliminate Plastic Waste,” brings attention to one of the most urgent environmental issues affecting our communities and ecosystems today.

Plastic pollution impacts soil, rivers, wildlife, and even human health. Through this theme, the event aims to promote awareness and encourage responsible waste practices. Each runner becomes a voice for sustainability, helping spread the message of collective responsibility and action.

Impact from CHM 2025

In the previous edition, the theme was brought to life through creative and effective awareness efforts

  • “प्लास्टिक प्रदूषणाचा भस्मासुर” – a powerful human sculpture created using discarded plastic bottle caps.
  • The artwork highlighted the harmful impact of plastic pollution on people and the environment.
  • Awareness displays and plastic waste installations were placed at the venue to spread environmental awareness.
  • The installation encouraged everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic.
